I’m Your Friend, Not Your Diary

Before I even begin, I know I’m going to come off cold. I assure you, I’m not.

Lemme ‘xplain

I’m not the person you want to call to complain without planning for a solution. I’m an event planner by trade which means I’m solution oriented. You can never tell me there’s no hope. My job is to find hope and shine a bright ass LED light on it like the bat signal. I’m the tough love, glass half full, I believe in miracles friend. My biggest pest peeve is people who complain and don’t try. Example, I just realized I gained nearly 20 pounds over the last few months. You won’t hear me mention it unless I’m actively ready to change. Until then, bring on the cake!

Do I have frustrations and need to vent? Absolutely! And I thankfully have a network to call on if needed but I don’t stay in that space. I take the lesson and keep truckin’. I journal and create as an outlet.  Workout. Help someone else. Practice gratitude. But I will never encourage swimming around in self pity.

How? That’s the question I get most often. How do you go from frustrations to action? The fastest way is to know that action is the only way out. With that being said, sometimes it’s more than a friend, a journal or a workout. If you need support, that’s the action. Make finding help your priority.
